With the guidance of experienced local instructors, you’ll float above vibrant coral, colorful fish, and—on some days—have a chance of seeing majestic sea turtles cruising peacefully through the water.

Children and first-timers are welcome, with snorkeling masks and life jackets provided for safety and comfort. There’s nothing quite like the excitement of spotting your first reef or sharing the moment of discovery with someone you love.

Forest Walk & River Stream Swim

Trade the ocean breeze for jungle shade with a guided forest and river tour—an ideal soft adventure for families seeking something beyond the beach.

While the lush valleys and rivers are about 40–60 minutes from Miru Amami, transportation is worry-free: your local guide will pick you up directly from the hotel and escort you by vehicle throughout the tour.

Walk along sun-dappled forest trails and follow gentle streams as you explore hidden parts of the island. Some tour courses include seasonal highlights like swimming in a waterfall basin—a refreshing summer treat that families love.

There are also mangrove canoe routes and tidal-flat eco walks, offering fun, hands-on ways for children and adults alike to connect with Amami’s unique ecosystems.

Enjoy SUP experience at Miru Amami

SUP experiences have been available at Miru Amami in previous seasons, but this year it’s even more accessible. With a dedicated SUP instructor stationed at the beach hut throughout the day, guests can enjoy smoother check-ins, direct guidance, and a more spontaneous approach to water activities.

Available exclusively on-site at Miru Amami, this easygoing ocean experience brings the joy of the water right to your doorstep—no extra travel or planning required. Because it all takes place on resort grounds, SUP is a fun and flexible activity you can enjoy at your own pace during your stay.

After your ride, unwind under the leafy canopy with a cool drink, and take in the tranquil beauty of the beach as the sun begins to dip.

For ages 10 and up (children must be accompanied by an adult)

Reservations open July 1 at the front desk. From July 8 onward, you can also book directly at the beach hut between 1:00 PM and 5:00 PM during operating hours. Same-day bookings available, depending on availability.
