Good news for Japanese residents coming to Amami Oshima! From 25th March onwards, twelve cities and towns in the Kagoshima Prefecture are now part of the Tabisakinozei programme, a “destination tax payment” system, with Miru Amami and Amanari now officially registered as member merchants. This system allows you to donate to the local government of your destination using the hometown tax payment system. As a thank-you, you will receive an electronic ticket to redeem benefits at the accommodation where you stay, or at various participating merchants. Additionally, you get to choose how the donation will be used, allowing you to support local initiatives that matter to you whilst contributing to the community.
Miru Amami and Amanari are committed to sustainable tourism. As registered member merchants, guests can take advantage of the programme benefit not only for hotel and restaurant but also for leisure activities with our tourism partners, organised by the hotel, ensuring a comprehensive and enriching experience with special trips around the island.
At Miru Amami, you can immerse yourself in a “new way of travel” that promises a fulfilling trip and supports the local community’s sustainability. For detailed travel tax information, please visit the official website: https://amami-tabisaki.jp/
