Summer in Niseko: Adventures for the Whole Family
Summer in Niseko: Adventures for the Whole Family
July 22, 2025
Climb, ride, explore—and reconnect in nature together

As the last of the snow melts from Niseko’s peaks and trails, the landscape transforms into a vibrant green playground. Rivers swell with snowmelt, alpine flowers bloom, and long summer days stretch invitingly before you. For families, it’s the perfect moment to slow down, tune into the rhythm of the season, and create shared memories in the fresh mountain air.

Whether you’re after a full day of adventure or just a relaxed outing with little ones, Niseko offers activities for every pace—and every member of the family.

Rhythm Hirafu: Where Movement Meets Community

Forget the idea of a quiet grassy park—Rhythm Hirafu is a dynamic, multi-sport hub right in the heart of Hirafu village. Designed for both locals and travelers, it brings the community together through activity, movement, and a shared love for the outdoors.

Inside, there’s Hokkaido’s only Kilter Board, a futuristic climbing wall that lights up to guide your route—great for kids and adults alike. You’ll also find a cozy café and coworking space, perfect for taking a breather while watching the action unfold.

Step outside and you’ll discover a full skate park and pump track, open to skateboards, scooters, and even inline skaters. There’s a slackline and trampoline in the kids’ zone, a range of bike rentals including electric city bikes and full-suspension mountain bikes. Many indoor and outdoor facilities are free to enjoy.

You can also book a guided (paid) ride or beginner lesson, making it easy to get started as a family—even if you’ve never tried it before.

Ride Free at Twin Peaks Bike Park

Just beyond Hirafu, a world of trails awaits at the Twin Peaks Bike Park. This professionally built, completely free-to-access mountain biking area features over 17 flowy trails winding through Niseko’s forests and foothills. Created in collaboration with international trail designers and the local biking community, it’s one of Hokkaido’s top spots for two-wheeled exploration.

There are beginner loops that young riders can enjoy, alongside pump tracks and progression zones where you can safely build up skills. Older kids (and grown-ups) can challenge themselves on bermed corners, downhill runs, and terrain made for flying. E-bikes are welcome on most trails, making it even easier for families to ride together across different ability levels.

In summer 2024, a new connector trail from Grand Hirafu made access even smoother—with gondola lift service and a gentle trail linking back to the village.

A Sweet Slow Day at Takahashi Farm

For a quieter day under the sky, few places feel as peaceful as Takahashi Dairy Farm.

If you’re lucky, you might spot cows grazing in the pasture—just one of the many simple joys that await in the open hills. The on-site Milk Kobo sweets shop is a local favorite, with handmade pastries and scenic terrace seating overlooking Mt. Yotei.

The farm is more than just a food stop—it’s a space to wander, taste, and breathe. Stroll through the craft shops, try homemade jams, or enjoy a relaxed lunch while kids explore the wide-open paths.

At Miru Niseko, we welcome families with spacious lodges surrounded by nature, a tranquil setting for rest between your adventures. Our team is happy to help arrange transfers and activity bookings.

Let this season be one of shared movement, soft laughter, and memories you’ll take with you long after the trail ends.

While many accommodations in Niseko close during the green season, both Miru Niseko and Miru Nozomi Views remain open throughout the summer. August is a popular time to visit, but we still have availability on select dates. We recommend booking early, and we look forward to hearing from you soon.
