From breathtaking cherry blossoms to beautiful bloomed peonies that colourfully depict the season, come experience Kyoto this Spring as the city comes to life!
Highlighted below are three experiences that will truly immerse you in the season’s splendour.
Kyoto’s Myosinji-temple Taizo-in is one of our favorite places to view cherry blossoms. “Taizo” in Japanese means humility, or not needing to show off value or beauty. This temple represents this principle perfectly, as you would not be able to see its spectacular garden from the entrance. This beauty was captured last Thursday, so make sure you witness fully bloomed cherry blossoms in all its glory this week.
The Yamabuki flower is a member of the rose family, and usually blooms alongside sakuras’ from April to May in Japan.
During spring, Matsuo Taisha Shrine is a must-see. It is one of Kansai’s most well-known Yamabuki destinations, so be sure to include it in your itinerary!

Visit Kyoto’s Kenninji temple around the end of April to set your eyes on the most beautifully bloomed peonies in Japan. The enchanting blooming of the king of flowers is an experience you must behold at least once in your lifetime!
