Set along the slopes above Akakōgi Bay, the Seascape Villas offer uninterrupted views and a private space to slow down. In the Forest Zone, added in 2024, nature’s rhythm is ever-present—waves in the distance, the rustle of leaves nearby.

On your terrace, a private pool is yours to enjoy any time of day. It’s a water retreat that stays close at hand, offering the soothing feel of immersion, the changing light on the surface, and the gentle sound of water against the edge. Sunlight filters through the trees, and with each breath, the island’s quiet energy settles in.

Morning begins with soft light spilling through the curtains, and evening unfolds under a canopy of stars—a stay designed to open the senses and loosen the pace.

Island Activities to Embrace the Season’s Shift

Through the end of September, Miru Amami continues to host seasonal wellness programs that invite you into the island’s nature.

SUP (Paid, Reservation Required)
At the beachfront beach hut on Akakōgi Bay, a dedicated instructor welcomes guests for SUP sessions daily during the beach season. All equipment is provided, and first-timers are guided with care—making it a worry-free experience. (May be canceled in case of bad weather)

Morning Yoga (Free, No Reservation Required)
On the open deck beside the beach hut, join a morning yoga session whenever the mood strikes. Surrounded by ocean breeze and the stillness of early day, it’s a rare kind of luxury only found while traveling. September marks the final month of this free program—an ideal chance to join before the season shifts. (May be canceled in case of rain) Sessions are held from 6:30–7:10 AM in the Glass Area on the following dates:

The Forest Zone: A New Way to Stay

The Forest Zone, newly introduced in 2024, was designed with environmental harmony in mind.

Building and landscaping have been planned to preserve Amami’s native vegetation and topography, while interiors use recycled cork, vegan leather, and reclaimed shells and glass.

Local craft traditions—such as bashō washi paper, teichigi dye, and hego fern dye—appear throughout, created in collaboration with island artisans.

Through the use of dyes found in the making of Ōshima Tsumugi, guests can intimately sense the breath of Amami Ōshima’s culture and craftsmanship.

*Dragon’s Eye Phenomenon (Best Viewing: Around September 23, 2025 ± 2 Weeks)

The “Dragon’s Eye” is a rare natural spectacle that can only be seen a few times a year. As the sun sets perfectly within a tunnel, it creates the illusion that life is being breathed into the eye of a dragon. This fleeting moment is one of Amami’s most magical sights.
