Witness dazzling stars and the mystical Milky Way

As the season for stargazing approaches, there is no better time to visit the island. 

During this period, you will be able to observe the many marvels of the night sky.

From magical views of the Milky Way rising over the ocean at Ayamaru Park to the glittering stars that illuminate the island. Depending on your luck, you might even experience meteor showers as well!

Be sure to gaze up at night on Tanabata Day, August 4th, to behold the magical wonders of the sky! You’ll get to enjoy enchanting sights like gleaming stars and the mythical quarter moon, which floats for seven days following the new moon and glows in the southwest. Not to mention a glimpse of the captivating Milky Way too, in places of the island where the night sky is dark. So, don’t miss out!

You can also enjoy this beautiful view at Miru Amami right from your room, beach and the outdoor area. We recommend renting beach mats or yoga mats at the front desk and lying down boldly on the ground for astronomical observation.
