Winter is back and some of our favourite ski spots are now open! Based on recent announcements, Niseko Village and Annupuri will open on December 3rd while Hirafu and Hanazono will open its doors later in the season. From fast paced to beginner-friendly, check out our list of activities to try in Niseko this winter!

Niseko United Ski Area is Now Open!

The #japow keeps falling – a sign that our beloved winter is finally here in Niseko. Now that Japan’s borders have finally opened, you can experience Niseko’s legendary slopes for yourself this winter holiday. Selected Niseko United Ski Resort will be open starting on December 3rd, such as Annupuri and Niseko Village Ski Resort, while Grand Hirafu and Hanazono will be opening at a later date. Find Your Peace in Snowboarding

Did you know Amami Oshima was a Christmas gift to Japan back in 1953? After the World War II, Amami and the Okinawa islands were under the control of the United States which brought hardship on the island and its people. For 8 years, a petition was requested for the islands to be returned back to Japan and was finally granted on Christmas day in 1953. In accordance with this, Amamian’s celebrate this day as Memorial Day, in addition to Christmas.
